Patricia Kainga Nangozo to contest on an Independent ticket

Incumbent Member of Parliament for Zomba City Patricia Kainga Nangozo will contest on an independent ticket in the forthcoming May 21 tripartite election.

Nangozo lost primary elections to Bester Awali who will now represent Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the polls.

Speaking in an interview with the press after presenting her nomination papers, Nangozo said she decided to contest independently clamming that her constituents insisted she should do it citing good roads, streets lights in the city during her tenure of office.

Nangozo and former Zomba Central MP Yunus Mussa lost to Bester Awali during the DPP primaries.

Meanwhile Mussa will also contest as an Independent candidate.
