DPP in electoral alliance with DEPECO

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has formed an alliance Democratic People’s Congress (DEPECO) led by Dr. Chris Daza.

The development comes barely two days after Daza pulled out of May 21 Presidenital race and endorsed President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

This has been disclosed in a media briefing held this morning at Victoria Gardens in the commercial capital Blantyre.

However, the two parties will field their own aspiring members of Parliament (MP) and councillors.

Meanwhile President Mutharika is today presenting nomination papers to MEC.
