Two people arrested over Chirimba Assemblies of God Church robbery

Two people have been arrested in connection with the robbery incident that happened at Chirimba Assemblies in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Blantyre Police Station Public Relations Officer Augustus Nkhwazi confirmed of the arrest, saying the two cornered on Friday February 22, 2019 as a result of a comprehensive police investigation.

Several items which were stolen from worshippers during a night of prayer at the said church have been recovered.

Police said the recovered items among others include two plasma television screens, two Laptop computers, home theatre and seven pieces of wrappers (zitenje). The items have been positively identified by the owners.

Police investigations continue to arrest more suspects and recover property.

The suspects are; Kondwani Sakwiya 40 of Mpendanyama village T.A. Ganya in Ntcheu and Chiyembekezo Gwalagwa 35 of Chisawa village T.A. Mpama in Chiradzulu.
