President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika visited the site of the tragic Kampepuza road accident at Kampepuza market along the M1 road in Ntcheu- district and thereafter cheered some of the survivors of the accident at Ntcheu District Hospital.
The accident happened on Friday morning Kampepuza Market in Ntcheu where truck carrying relief maize from Dodma rammed into the crowd at the market and injuring several others in process.
About 17 people died on the spot while four others died few hours later in the course of receiving medical treatment at Ntcheu district hospital and Kamuzu central hospital where they were referred for further treatment.
Over 27 people were left with various degrees of injuries.
