Poet Mollen Nazombe dies


A dark cloud has engulfed poetry fans following the death of well-known poet and radio personality Mollen Nazombe.

Nazombe died on Wednesday night after a long illness.

Mollen is a brother to the late poet Aubrey Nazombe.

Mollen once worked with Matindi FM and presented various programs on poetry.

He came into the limelight after the death of his brother who was also working at Joy FM presenting various poetry programs.

Former Poetry Association of Malawi (PAM) Publicity Secretary Sylvester Kalizang’oma expressed shock over the death of Nazombe.

“KUMANDA KULIBE UBONGO SIKUGANIZA”_RIP MOLLEN NAZOMBE,” wrote Kalizang’oma on his official facebook page.

On his part, one of the radio personalities Kenneth Amfumu Khondiwa who is also a poet also expressed shock over the untimely death of Nazombe.

“We started poetry journey together. Organising poetry shows that people will live to remember,but it’s all history now…rest well my brother and friend Mollen Nazombe,” wrote  Khondiwa on his official facebook page.

Meanwhile condolence messages are still pouring in.
