Businessman shoots himself to death in Lilongwe

Mchinji businessman based in Lilongwe on Sunday committed suicide by shooting himself to death, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Mchinji Police Spokesperson Kaitano Lubrino confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the deceased as Fedeliko Chikakula.

According to Lubrino, on the fateful day the deceased visited his relatives in his home village of Chillundu, Senior Chief Mlonyeni in Mchinji where he distributed undisclosed sums of money.

He later drove to a nearby bush near the village where he shot himself with a gun.

Police rushed to the scene and found him unconscious and he was rushed to Mchnji District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In 1998 the deceased also attempted to take his own life by drinking poison due to frustration that his business was collapsing.
