Mutharika Shocked by the Death of two MDF Soldiers at Bua Bridge

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the first lady, have expressed shock over sudden death of two Malawi Defense Force (MDF) soldiers who lost their lives at Bua Bridge.

This was disclosed in a press statement released on Tuesday signed by Lloyd Muhara, Chief Secretary to the Government,

In the statement, Muhara said Mutharika is deeply saddened by the accident that involved MDF soldiers and some civilians.

“Their Excellences join all Malawians in expressing their condolences to the families,” reads part of the statement.

The President is therefore urging the MDF and all Malawians of goodwill to continue searching for the two soldiers and two civilians whose bodies are not yet found.

The deceased soldiers are Warrant Officer Class 1 Lawrence Ulanga and Lance Corporal Tinene Bakali, whose bodies were laid to rest on 18 and 19 March 2019 respectively.
