Police Shoot Man to Death in Dedza

A 22-year-old man who was suspected to be a criminal was shot to death by police in Dedza.

The deceased was identified as Kalikoha Foyidala who was a Kabaza operator in the district.

Police in Dedza have shot to death a 22-year-old young man, Kalikokha Foyidala, for being suspected a suspected criminal.

Dickson Foyidala, a brother to the victim told Zodiak that his brother was coming from a drinking joint when the police shot him.

“The police shot my brother despite telling them he was not a criminal,” said Dickson.

Dickson says from the bicycle taxi business his brother could assist their parents who have disability.

According to Dickson, after shooting him, the police took his body to Dedza district hospital, and then later to police headquarters at area 30 in Lilongwe.

Dickson says they want justice to take its course, as the police are failing to give a proper explanation on the death.

Meanwhile, police have not yet commented on the matter.
