Kaliati Re-builds Flooded Blocks in Mulanje

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General has intervened in funding maintenance works of school blocks that were damaged by floods in Mulanje.

Kaliati made the pledge to assist in rebuilding the collapsed school blocks on Wednesday during her visit to Luwanga Primary school.

The school blocks collapsed following the recent floods that hit the country in the past few weeks.

The situation prompted the school management and chiefs to ask help from Kaliati.

Kaliati, a former teacher pledged to fund the maintenance work of the affected blocks and restore them back to their standard.

Commenting on the matter Willard Matola, Luwanga Primary school head teacher hailed Kaliati for helping the school.

“We thank our member of parliament for coming to our rescue, she always come and help us whenever we have problems and in need of her help,” Matola said.

Kaliati further commended the school committee and chiefs in the area for being united for the common good of their children’s education.
