MCP Supporters Celebrating Victory at Party’s Headquarters

A picture of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters celebrating early victory at the party’s headquarters in Lilongwe has surfaced on social media.

This is so despite that Malawi Electoral Commission has not yet announced the 2019 official Election results.

MEC was scheduled to hold a press briefing at 12 oclock today which has been shifted to 1 oclock at the main Tally Center at Comessa Hall in the commercial capital Blantyre.

MEC Director of Media Sangwani Mwafulirwa confirmed of the changes in a statement released this morning.

“This is to advise that the press briefing will be held at 1pm today and not 12pm as earlier communicated,” reads in part the statement by Mwafulirwa.

The cause of the changes was not advised.
