Former Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare Jean Kalirani has been defeated, according to unofficial results.

Kalirani was running on Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ticket.

Limbani Kalirani a son Dr. Jean Kalirani has also encountered the same fate in Lilongwe City Center constituency.

Just like his mother, Limbani Kalirani was also on DPP ticket.
