‘Time up for DPP Thieves’ – Chilima

United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Saulos Chilima has accused the current leadership of suffocating Malawians from getting quality life due to wrongful enrichment.

Chilima made the remarks during his campaign trail at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre yesterday.

Chilima further said Malawi will be a great country only if Democratic Progressive Party DPP is voted out of power in the May 21 polls.

He added that DPP is not satisfied with what it has stolen from Malawians as they are demanding K10 million from Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of parastatals.

These people (in DPP) are thieves and as evidence, they are not satisfied with what they have stolen, they have instructed every CEO of parastatals in the country to donate K10 million to DPP,” he said.

As he (Chilima) recently mentioned Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority’s (Macra) involved in supporting DPP campaign, Chilima said Macra have also bought vehicles to please chiefs who are not in support of the governing DPP.

“At Macra they have bought vehicles and some of them will be given to chiefs to corruptly make them help DPP in this elections,” he added.

He then asked and warned Macra and Malawi Regulatory Authority (MRA) to honorably resign.

“Macra and MRA officials clean your decks,” warned Chilima.

He further added that for Malawians to move out from this mess they will have to vote wisely in the forthcoming elections.
