Chilima joins protestors in Lilongwe

United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima has joined thousands of demonstrators in the capital Lilongwe to force Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah to immediately resign for failing to manage the May 21 tripartite election.

Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) are today holding a peaceful protest national wide protest against the outcome of the May 21 tripartite election which saw President Peter Mutharika being declared winner.

In Lilongwe, the protesters have assembled at Lilongwe Community Ground where the protest will start march to capitol Hill where they will present a petition.

Speaking to the protestors, Chilima urged Malawians to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.

In Blantyre, Protestors a have started marching from Kamuzu Upper Stadium to Civic Officers where they will present their petition.

UTM National Youth Director Bon Kalindo is among the protestors.
