Passenger killed in road accident in Ntcheu

One passenger is reported dead while several others have sustained injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Ntcheu District on Tuesday night.

The accident happened at Bemvu Turn Off, according to information sourced by faceofmalawi.

Ntcheu Police Station Spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodaik Broadcasting Station (ZBS).

Chigalu said at the time of the accident, the driver of the Toyota Hiace was driving from the direction of Ntcheu heading to Balaka with fifteen passengers on board.

The driver collided with unknown oncoming vehicle which was allegedly overtaking two motor vehicles.

“In the process, the driver lost control of the vehicle and went to the offside of the road where it overturned once,” Chigalu said.

The deceased died on the scene of the accident.
