Tipp-ex election: Chilima calls for immediate resignation of Jane Ansah

United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima has called for the immediate resignation of Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah for administering fraudulent elections.

Chilima said this during a media briefing currently underway at UTM headquarters in the capital Lilongwe.

“The importance of the Malawi Electoral Commission cannot be overemphasized. Its role is to ensure that the playing field is levelled. But the Commission disappointed us.

“We have taken a position that results of the elections must be nullified,” he said.

He added: “We have evidence of alleged misconduct on the part of Chairperson of the Commission. We will share that privately. The Chairperson should immediately resign.”
