FCB Launches New Mobile App

As part of its continued digital transformation journey, one of the country’s commercial banks, First Capital Bank, on Tuesday unveiled a Mobile Application to facilitate transactions with customers.

First Capital Bank Head of Transactional Banking and Marketing, Ewen Hiwa, said the app would augment the bank’s First Mobile (USSD based platform) which was rolled out 10 years ago.

Hiwa said the launch of the App demonstrated the bank’s commitment to responding to not only the needs of its customers but also the growing sophistication of their lifestyles and taste.

“We are manifesting that time counts and should be spent meticulously. With the App, our customers have one less hassle to worry about while they focus on what matters most,” Hiwa said.

He said the Mobile app comes with several unique features such as card management which allows users to manage their cards from the App through setting up of new PIN, blocking cards and changing card limits, among others.

“The App is well thought out and meticulously developed. Customers can send remittance tokens directly via WhatsApp to enable beneficiaries to cash out money at a First Capital Bank ATM.

“Other features include direct statement download, viewing of multiple accounts and loan account balances, quick payments to registered billers without logging in, biometric and/or face ID log-in and so much more. It is unique, efficient, secure and agile,” Hiwa said.

Customers can access the App by downloading it from Google Playstore for Android users.

According to Hiwa, the App will soon be available on Apple store for iOS users.

  1. That’s actually convenient, and I’m glad that many companies start to understand the benefits of developing mobile apps. Now I’m curious if there are going to be any subscription offers with increased cashback or anything like that. With solutions like https://adapty.io/subscription-analytics/ , it’s not a problem to implement in-app purchases and get real-time subscription metrics to understand the clients’ dynamics.
