United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima is expected to join anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations this coming Tuesday in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Chilima made the revelation on Sunday during a thank you rally held in his home district of Ntcheu where thousands of UTM supporters attended.
The former Vice President urged all Malawians to continue patronizing the demonstrations organized by Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) aimed at forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah.
âWhat I can ask from you is that you should be taking part, you should not be looking at things from afar,â said Chilima.
He added: âHolding demonstrations is our right but we should not vandalise any property, we must not break things that we built, we need to move forward.â
Chilima went further by asking President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to resign for failing to handle the countryâs challenges leading to economic stagnation.
UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) are protesting the outcome of the May 21 tripartite election and the two political parties have dragged MEC to court demanding nullification of the Presidential polls.
