Nine people have been killed in a road accident involving a Toyota Sienta and a fuel tanker last night in Machinga district.
Police in the district reveal that the head-on collision occurred at Ndache area before Mandevu Farm.
According to Eastern region police publicist, Joseph Sauka, all passengers on-board the Toyota Sienta died on the spot.
Sauka reveals that the Sienta which was overloaded with 9 passengers was speeding resulting in the collision.
One woman and her two children have been identified but details of the rest of the victims remain unknown.
