Chakwera applaud Malawians for keenly following presidential polls case

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has hailed Malawians for keenly following the ongoing presidential polls case where the party and United Transformation Movement (UTM) are seeking nullification of the May 21 polls.

Since the case commenced on Thursday last week Malawians across the country have been following the case through some local radio stations that are covering the case live.

Pictures surfaced on social media last week showing people sitting in a group following the court case through the radio.

As this is not enough others could be head discussing the proceedings of case in market places, church, football grounds and other places.

Writing on his official facebook page, Chakwera hailed Malawians for following up the case.

“Today was Day 4 of the presidential elections case at the Constitutional Court. Even though there are only two petitioners, the outcome will affect all of us as a nation, and so I wish to thank you all for following the proceedings closely,” wrote Chakwera on his official facebook page.

Meanwhile cross-examination of Dr. Saulos Chilima is continuing this morning at the High Court in the capital Lilongwe.
