Minister of Finance to table 2019/2020 national budget

Minister of Finance and Economic Development Joseph Mwanamvekha will today table his first 2019/2020 national budget at the August House since his appointment in June this year.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika appointed Mwanamvekha replacing the long serving Minister Goodall Gondwe who is now serving as Presidential Advisor on Finance.

The 2019/2020 national budget was called off in June this year due to political tension where some political parties namely Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) are disputing the outcome of the May 21 polls.

The two parties are seeking nullification of the Presidential polls due to what the call serious irregularities that marred the elections.

The case is currently in court…
