MUTHARIKA TO LEAVE FOR MUGABE’S BURIAL ON SATURDAY

The government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has said President Peter Mutharika will leave the country to attend the burial ceremony of the Late Comrade Robert Gabriel Mugabe, former president of the republic of Zimbabwe

In a statement made available to Faceofmalawi, Mutharika is expected to leave the country via Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) on Saturday, September 14.

“His excellency Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi, will depart for Harare Zimbabwe on Saturday, September 1, 2019 to attend the funeral of His Excellency the Late Comrade Robert Gabriel Mugabe, former president of the republic of Zimbabwe,” reads part of statement

The statement has continued that the full detailed program for the presidential trip will be released later.

Mugabe who was overthrown from power by the Zimbabwe army in 2017, has died at the age of 95.
