Govt, Opposition Blame Each Other on Mwapasa Confirmation Delays

Parliament rose yesterday with the government and opposition sides blaming each other on the failure of the house to confirm Duncan Mwapasa as IG.
Leader of the house Kondwani Nankhumwa said the opposition frustrated a government motion to confirm Mwapasa by seeking an injunction against the confirmation.
However, leader of opposition in parliament Lobin Lowe has accused government of trying to flout the constitutional by asking parliament to confirm Mwapasa pending the retirement of Rodney Jose.
