Mutharika to Attend Russia-Africa Summit

President Peter Mutharika will today leave the country for Russia to attend the first ever Russian-Africa Summit which is expected to take place at Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi from October 23, 2019.

Chief Secretary to Government Lloyd Muhara confirmed the development in a statement released yesterday.

In his remarks, presidential spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani said the summit stand to benefit the country in all the key areas Malawi rely on.

“Many African countries will be attending the summit to advance their areas of interests with the Russian Federation, similarly, President Mutharika will be leading a Malawi delegation at the summit for the same purpose,” he said
