Groom Dies At Wedding Reception

There was pandemonium at Amasiri Secondary School, Amasiri in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria as the bridegroom identified as Dr. Chukwuemeka Thompson Onwuka reportedly slumped and died at a wedding reception.

According to Daily Independent, the ill-fated wedding took place on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

The wedding, Daily Independent added, had earlier been solemnized at St. James Presbyterian Church, Amasiri Parish after which the now-deceased Onwuka, his bride Marie Onyiyechi Amadi, their families and guests had moved to the reception venue.

Eye witness accounts recounted, however, that soon after the reception had kicked off, the groom slumped and died, even in spite of frantic efforts of guests at the occasion to revive him.

The deceased, it was learnt, and his bride had just graduated from Abia State University, Uturu.

A peep into the deceased’s Facebook account revealed a poetic post on October 12, 2019, announcing the then-forthcoming but now ill-fated wedding where he had posted about it.
