The head of state who is also Chairperson of the African Union was born on October 23rd, 1957 in Nyarutovu, the former Tambwe District; which, is now known as Ruhango District in the Southern Province of Rwanda.
His 62nd birthday today. As a number of online tributes attest, he is one of the most acclaimed political figures of his generation.

President Kagame, who is active on Social media, has since this morning received many tweets from Rwandans, Government officials as well as friends of Rwanda from abroad wishing him a “Happy birth Day”.
He is the 4th and current President of Rwanda, having taken office in 2000 when his predecessor, Pasteur Bizimungu, resigned.
Kagame previously commanded the rebel force that ended the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
