Ghanaian Woman Nabbed at KIA over Drugs

Another drug dealer has been arrested by the Police at Kamuzu International Airport after being found attempting to export dangerous drug called Apomorphine.

Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) police spokesperson, Sub-Inspector Sapulain Chitonde Lee has confirmed of the incident saying it occurred Thursday, 24th October, 2019 at around 11:30 in the morning.

This was barely two hours after a Nigerian drug dealer was arrested by the same Police for attempting to export the Dangerous Drug called Cocaine at KIA.

The Ghanaian woman has been identified as Sally Adarkwa who came into the Country 4 days ago and was found in possession and attempting to export Apomorphine drug weighing 5.2 Kgs concealed in her both bags, according to KIA police spokesperson.

“Sally was expected to board a South African Airways on her way to Accra, Ghana and upon arrival at her first Police check (Main entrance) ,Officers manning the X-ray machine observed some strange contents which were exposed by the Machine and immediately they demanded for a physical searching of her bags which she refused but later Police managed to do their Professional work. This time it’s when they physically found 5.2 Kilograms of Apomorphine drug concealed in special papers to beat the unbeatable KIA Security,” said Sub-Inspector Sapulain.

The 45-year-old suspect was arrested on the spot and is now in police custody waiting to appear before court to answer charges of being found in possession of dangerous drug which contravenes regulation 14 of Dangerous Drugs as read with Section 19 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The Director of Airport Police Securities has again warned those would be offenders to refrain from trying KIA Police saying that the place and Country remains a no go zone for Criminals.
