Hippos kill man who attempted to illegally cross SA border

Raging hippos have claimed the life of a Zimbabwean man who attempted to get into South Africa illegally.

According to the reports, the incident occurred in the Limpopo province in the early hours of Friday.

It is alleged that the perpetrator whose name has not been revealed yet tried to cross the border but accidentally ran onto the hippos’ territory drawing the attention of two adult individuals. The mammals swiftly attacked the man fataly injuring him.

The border jumper succumbed to the wounds upon admission to the Beitbridge Hospital.

The incident is the seventh such registered within the past four years. The previous attack, which involved a soldier patrolling the Zimbabwean side of the border, took place last July.
