Plane fails to land at Chileka Airport due to bad weather

The Malawi Airlines’ E40 on Wednesday failed to land at Chileka Airport twice due to harsh weather that engulfed the commercial capital Blantyre.

Malawi Airlines spokesperson Joseph Josiah confirmed of the development in an interview with the press on Wednesday.

Josiah said the plane is currently at Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe waiting for the weather to normalize in Blantyre.

Malawian Airlines is expected to release a statement on the incident which left over 50 passengers stranded.
