Malawi police in Chitipa are looking for an unknown woman who has stolen a three month- old baby from its mother Mester Nawala aged 40.
According to Gladwell Simwaka who is the spokesperson for Chitipa police, the woman pretended like she was stranded and needed some accommodation to sleep over in Nawala’s house at katutula village in chief Mwaulambias area.
“She was allowed to spend a night at Nawala’s house in a sitting room with the other three children. The mother and her baby slept in her bedroom but the following morning around 4am, the mother discovered that the baby was nowhere to be seen and the visitor had disappeared,” said simwaka.
Meanwhile Simwaka has warned people against trusting strangers.
