Mutharika’s witness Ben Phiri cross-examination starts

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ben Phiri, first witness for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has started testifying in the ongoing Presidential polls case in defence of his master.

This follows the raping up of Second petition, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) parading witnesses in the presidential polls.

MCP finished parading its witnesses with Daud Suleman who demonstrated how the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) rigged the election in favour of President Peter Mutharika.

Phiri is being closed examined Dr. Salungwe, lead lawyer for the first applicant Dr. Saulos Chilima.
