Legendary Tanzanian songstress Bi Cheka is dead

Legendary Tanzanian musician Bi Cheka Haji has gone to be with her maker, Faceofmalawi.com has learnt.

The celebrated songstress passed away on Thursday, November 28, at the Mlongazila Hospital.

According to Mwanaspoti newspaper, the multi-talented artiste died due to heart complications.

Her death was confirmed by fellow musician Mheshimiwa Temba who revealed he learnt of her ailment five months ago

‘’Bi Cheka is dead. I talked to her five months ago. A certain woman had called me to inform me about her illness.’’ Temba told Mwanaspoti.

Temba, who was one of the artistes who worked closely with the late said she will be remembered for her hospitality and love for music despite her age.

Until her death, the renown songstress was signed or rather was a member of Mkubwa Na Wanawe group, managed by Diamond manager Mkubwa Fella.

Bi Cheka was famous for her song Ni Wewe featuring Mheshimiwa Temba and Good Baba Fella featuring late Godzilla.
