Angry residents in Dowa have burnt down a vehicle of nurse who refused to treat a pregnant woman resulting to her death.
The angry mob has also demolished the house of the nursing officer at Bowe Health Centre.
According to information at hand, the woman arrived at the hospital in the evening last Sunday but the nursing officer refused to come to the hospital to treat.
The patient was later rushed to Ntchisi District Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The development angered the residents who mobilized themselves and invaded the house of the said nurse, burning the car in the process.
It took the intervention of the law enforcers to come down the situation.
Meanwhile, Kondwani Kandiado- spokesperson for Dowa police has confirmed the development but refused to give more information.
Ministry of Health spokesperson is yet to comment on the matter.
