Man arrested for defiling an imbecile

Police in Dowa have arrested 32-year-old Alex Guzani on allegation that he defiled a 15-year-old imbecile girl.

The suspect is alleged to have committed the offence on November 11 2019 at Besela Village in Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa.

Police report indicates that on the day of the incident, two girls were returning from school at Ndunje Community Day Secondary School using a bushy path and while passing by a gully, they saw a bicycle parked in the gully.

The girls went close and found the suspect defiling the victim before they shouted for the victim’s help.

The suspect was immediately apprehended by people who were passing by the same bushy path.

The victim was taken to police who in turn referred her to Dowa District Hospital where medical examination conducted confirmed defilement to have taken place as evidenced by several bruises on the victim’s private parts.

The suspect who comes from Katalika Village in Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa will appear before court soon to answer a charge of defilement of an imbecile.
