Mbeta Cautioned on Asking Personal Questions

Constitutional Court in Lilongwe has cautioned Frank Mbeta a lawyer representing the first respondent in the on going presidential polls President Peter Mutharika from asking personal questions to the last witness of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Daudi Sulemani.

The development comes after Mbeta, quizzed MCP sixth and last witness Daudi Sulemani on his qualification as an IT expert.

Mbeta has started cross examining Suleman today.

Mbeta accused Suleman of lying to court through his sworn statement that he was the first person to obtain a fiscal network certificate.

He also accused Sulemani of failing to operate a computer system when he was working for NBS bank which cost the bank.

However, lawyers for MCP objected saying Mbeta was asking person questions.

This forced Judge Redson Kapindu to caution Mbeta from asking person questions.

Meanwhile, Suleman has told the court that 156 tally sheets were approved by a single person in the system.

He also told the court that 1325 records were deleted in the system of the commission.
