Nurses to down tools from November 29

Unemployed nurses and mid-wives hired as interns in public hospitals across the country will from November 29 start a sit-in to force the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government to fully employ them.

The nurses claim government is exploiting them by among other things putting them on internships, locum and upkeep allowances instead of giving them full time employment.

Speaking in an interview with MIJ fm radio, one of the leaders of the grouping calling itself Concerned Unemployed Nurse-Midwives Donald Kanjere Zgambo confirmed of the sit-in.

Zgambo said the vigils will be in state agencies.

Effort to talk to Ministry of Health Spokesperson proved futile.
