Unemployed Nurses, Midwives hold national wide protest

Over 3000 nurses, doctors, and clinicians are today hold demonstrations across the country to force the government to recruit them.

In Dowa District, the demonstrations are currently underway with protesters matching from the main District Hospital heading to the District Commissioner’s Office where a petition will be presented.

Currently, the situation is calm as the interns are on police escort.

In Ntcheu, the protest has also begun and over 50 Nurses, Midwives and clinicians are taking part in the demonstrations.

Police officers in the district are escorting the medical practitioners.
