60 Year-Old Man Who set Ablaze Mutharika’s Billboard Appear Before Court, Pleaded Not Guilty

60 year old man who allegedly set ablaze president Peter Mutharika’s  billboard in Nkhata Bay during anti-Ansah demonstrations has today pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before the district magistrate’s court.

Spokesperson for Nkhata Bay police sergeant Kondwani James identified the suspect as Nyenje Nyirenda.

According to James, Nyirenda allegedly committed the crime on September 25, 2019 but has been on the run until his arrest on December 8.
