Sister Raped By Own Brother, Speaks Out Four Years Later

In Zimbabwe, an attempt by a Lupane based family to conceal a case of sexual abuse has been exposed after a rape victim finally broke her silence four years after she was allegedly violated by her brother.

Allegations are that on an unknown date in 2015, the accused met the complainant who was coming from school and asked her to assist him in carrying some logs from a nearby bush.

It is further alleged that he then raped her but family members agreed not to report the matter to the police.

However, four years after the alleged incident, the complainant reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the accused.

The case is being heard before Hwange Magistrate Collet Ncube with the accused remanded in custody.
