Malawi Law Society Expresses Shock Over Mpinganjira’s Warrant of Arrest Cancellation

Friends of the court in the high profile presidential election case, Malawi Law Society (MLS) has expressed shock with the midnight bail granted to First Discount House (FDH) Bank boss Thom Mpinganjira.

President for MLS Burton Mhango said this in an interview.

According to Mhango he cannot comment much on the saying that they are yet to review the reasons given on the cancellation of warrant of arrest of Mpinganjira.

However, Mhango said the development is shocking.

During midnight, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Reyneck Matemba was served with a court order from Zomba Magistrate Court on the cancellation of warrant of arrest of the business tycoon.

Meanwhile, ACB has moved to set aside the order to re-arrest FDH boss Mpinganjira.
