Police fires teargas at primary school learners in Dowa

Police in Dowa have fired teargas to disperse learners from Senga Primary and Community Day Secondary Schools who blocked M1 road at Chimwaza Trading Centre.

The learners took to the street to express their anger over continued strike by teachers’ national wide who are demanding their December salaries.

Police had to fire teargas to disperse the angry learners.

It is reported that community members have now joined the protests demanding that their children get their educational right.

The situation is the same in Kasungu where learners are in running battles with the police.
