Bakili Muluzi hails constitutional court ruling on the May 21 polls

Malawi’s former President Bakili Muluzi has hailed the constitutional court’s determination to nullify presidential election results that ushered Peter Mutharika into second term as President.

Muluzi said this in a statement made available to Faceofmalawi reporter.

According to Muluzi, the example which has been set will be under close scrutiny and as such Malawi should treasure its democracy.

“Let me appeal to all leaders, political parties and their supporters to ensure that they have understood the judgment,” he said.

The constitutional court yesterday (Feb 03,2020) nullified presidential results for the May 21 2019 elections, citing widespread irregularities.
