NBM DONATES K1 MILLION TO MLS

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has donated K1 million to Malawi Law Society (MLS) for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for the 27th of February to the 1st of March 2020.

Presenting the cheque in Blantyre, NBM plc Legal Counsel and Company Secretary Zunzo Mitole said the bank values the role that lawyers play in the country, especially in the financial sector.

“When NBM plc noted the theme for this year’s conference as ‘Contemporary issues in Legal practice’, we felt that we should support the AGM considering the amount of commercial litigation that is done in the financial industry,” said Mitole.

MLS Executive Director Mzati Mbeko thanked NBM plc for the sponsorship saying it will go a long way in making the AGM a success.“So far, NBM plc is the only institution that has sponsored our AGM and we are very grateful for thesupport that they have given us. We cherish he relationship that we have with NBM plc,” said Mbeko.

He said the AGM, is expected to host almost 500 lawyers and will be held at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.
