Chairperson for Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Timothy Mtambo has claimed that unknown planned to assassinate him last night.
Mtambo who made the allegation on his Facebook page where he said his ‘enemies’ planned to end him yesterday, extended a strong warning to them saying it will not be as easy as they think to have him killed.
He has however, not stated the reasons for the assassination attempts.
“You sons of the devil, you are planning to kill me tonight but be careful it won’t be easy as you think,” Mtambo said.
According to Mtambo his team overheard cadets planning on his assassination as they said ‘Tamupeza, (we have found him) bring all the weapons’
Mtambo continued by posing a question to those who are planning o assassinating to tell him “why do you hate me this way?”
He therefore said those who are planning to end his life that they are fighting the Malawi nation and God and nothing will be well with them.
“I am sick and tired of you, Malawians we cannot continue this way. It is time to protect our republic. Fellow Malawians get ready. You sons and daughters of the devil know that any problem has an expiry date. We worship a powerful and awesome God,” Mtambo said.
This is not the first time Mtambo has made such allegations, since last year he has been surviving different assassination attempts.
