Chilima takes campaign trail to Mzuzu

State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) will on Saturday hold a public rally at Upper Mzuzu Stadium ahead of the fresh polls as ordered by the constitutional court on February 3, 2020.

The rally in Mzuzu comes barely days after another rally at Masintha Ground two days ago where Chilima reminded Malawians of various promises that the part outlined in its manifesto.

Chilima also urged party follows to remain calm on the issue of forming an alliance with other political parties ahead of the fresh polls.

He hinted that discussions are going on.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Chilima has formed an alliance with the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

According to reports, Chilima has been offered the runningmate role of Chakwera replacing Muhamadi Sidik Mia.

Mia has been demoted to the role of Second Vice President.
