Man arrested for defiling two girls and infecting them with STI

Police in Mwanza are keeping in custody Chisomo Mussa, 22, for defiling two girls and infecting them with Gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

The girls, who are aged between seven and nine, were defiled at Masokosa Village in Senior Chief Nthache in the district.

Mwanza Police Station Public Relations Officer, Inspector Edwin Kaunda told Malawi News Agency (Mana) on Wednesday that the suspect committed the crime in December, 2019.

“Mussa used to coax the two young girls to his house where he could defile them one after the other,” said Kaunda.

The police publicist further said after satisfying his sexual desires, the suspect used to threaten the victims that he would kill them if they revealed to anyone about what was happening to them.

According to Kaunda, on January 7, this year (2020), mother of one of the two girls noticed that her daughter had difficulties in walking.

“She asked the girl what went wrong and the girl explained everything the suspect used to do to her and her colleague,” said Kaunda.

He explained that parents for the two girls reported the incident to Mwanza Police Station where the victims were referred to Mwanza District Hospital for medical examination.

“The medical report confirmed that the girls were really defiled and infected with gonorrhea,” said Kaunda.

According to the PRO, Mussa who comes from Masokosa Village in Senior Chief Nthache in the district, is expected to appear before court to answer charges of defilement and infecting the two young girls with the STI.
