MANEB official suspended for exposing Nankhumwa’s qualification

Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has suspended one of its officials for allegedly exposing academic qualification of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa to third party without consent.

The suspended official has been identified as Mr. S Mpoya, according to the letter dated February 4, 2020 seen by Faceofmalawi reporter.

“Management has learnt with dismay that you diverged information regarding Honorable Kondwani Nankhumwa’s JC and MSCE qualification to the third party with his consent and the approval of the Executive Director.

“This is a breach of sections 13.5, 1.15, which is “Diverging information relating to MANEB to third parties without prior authorization by the Executive Director,” and 16.5, 1.21 which is Disclosing confidential information to unauthorized people,” reads part of the letter signed by MANEB Acting Director of Corporate Services.

The suspension according to the letter is with immediate effect.

Recently reports were all over social media claiming that Nankhumwa’s academic qualifications are fake but he quashed this on several occasions, accusing his political opponents of being behind this.
