Mutharika Urged to Condemn ‘Shameful Acts’ by DPP Cadets During Their ‘Restoration of Democratic Justice’ March

President Peter Mutharika has been called to condemn the “shameful” acts that DPP supporters portrayed during their Monday “Restoration of Democratic Justice” march in Blantyre.

Acting Executive Director for Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative-CDEDI, Sylvester Namiwa says some placards the supporters carried were highly sensitive with potential to cause tension in the country.

Some of the placards villified MEC Commissioner, Mary Nkosi labelling her a traitor for what she revealed during her meeting with the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament last week.

Among others, Nkosi claimed the Commission’s Chairperson Jane Ansah did not consult them on certain decisions she made.

The governance institution is dismayed that DPP has rescinded on its earlier peace pledge.

Politicians have also been reminded that none is bigger than Malawi.

DPP accuses five judges who presided over the presidential election case accusing them of delivering a “partisan” judgment.
