A High Court judge’s son and his two accomplices allegedly robbed a Harare cellphone dealer popularly known as Sypho of all his 4 handsets before fatally stabbing him and dumping his corpse in a bush in Zimbabwe, iHarare reports.

Munyaradzi Junior Mawadze (21), who is the son of judge, Justice Garainesu Mawadze, was arrested together with Elvin Dongo Saungweme (22) and Dylon Balani (22) for murder on Wednesday.

The trio is said to have posed as cellphone buyers and took Sypho from his trading area  near Chicken Slice food court, along Angwa Street, before driving to Waterfalls where they robbed him of his four cellphones.

The allegedly stabbed him several times then proceeded to dump the body after the fact.

The incident is said to have occurred on the 12th of March 2020.

Sypho had already been reported missing by members of his family. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Homicide squad took over the case last week and the investigation trail led to the discovery of the gruesome murder.

The investigating team got information that Sypho was last seen in the company of Mawadze, a first-year law student at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).

Mawadze was arrested in Masvingo after the police launched a manhunt for him.

Mawadze confessed to the murder after the police brought him in to to assist with further investigations

He also implicated his two accomplices and led the police to Ruwa where they had dumped the corpse.

The body was recovered in a state of decomposition and was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for post-mortem.

The three were yesterday still in custody and are expected to appear in court today.
