A project worthy 5.5 Million dollars to be implemented in Malawi

Inosselia Commercial Limited in collaboration with Malawi government under the Green Belt Initiative (GBI) has embarked on a project of greenhouse based vegetable farming in Lilongwe.

The project will be implemented on a 28-hectare piece of land that has been leased from Airport Development Limited (ADL).

In his remarks Inosselia Commercial Limited Country Director Michael Gorelik said the project aims at growing different vegetables that will be sold in major chain stores in the country and in other countries in the Southern African Development (SADC) region.

“The greenhouse technology project will be highly competitive, with products expected to be of high quality to meet with international standards,” explained Gorelik.

He further said out of the 28 hectares, 16 hectares will go to the construction of 16 Greenhouses, each spanning 1 hectare and the growing of the vegetables will use one of the very high technologies that Israeli Agriculture can offer.

Construction of the greenhouse, which when completed, will be one of the biggest in Southern Africa region, is at advanced stage and it is expected that by mid this year, four greenhouses will be fully operational.
