Denied Money For Booze, Alcohol Addict Hacks Wife, Son To Death

In India – A shocking case of double murder has come to light from Solan district’s Jagatpur village in Nalagarh where an alcohol addicted man allegedly hacked his wife and son to death with a sharp-edged weapon.

The crime took place on Sunday morning after the accused, identified as Ranjit Singh, demanded money from his wife which led to an altercation between the two.

The crime came to light when a few women spotted the dead body of a youth in a field and alerted the police.

Soon after receiving the information, the police swung into action and DSP Nalagarh arrived at the spot with a team. The police team recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy on the farm.

Upon investigating further, they recovered the dead body of the accused man’s wife from his house.  The victims were identified as 17-year-old Gagandeep and 45-year-old Samti Devi. The bodies of the deceased boy and his mother had marks of injuries inflicted by some sharp-edged weapons.

According to the Dainik Bhaskar, the now-deceased woman received compensation after the government acquired her land for construction of a national highway.

Her alcohol-addicted husband used to pester her for money. This led to frequent quarrels between the couple as the woman refused to give him money for indulging in drinking.

According to News 18 reports, the accused was undergoing treatment at a de-addiction centre and had arrived in the village on March 11.

However, the treatment did not cure his drinking habit and he consumed alcohol on all the days after returning from the de-addiction centre. After the murder, the accused attempted to escape from the village but the locals nabbed and handed him over to the police.

The accused has been arrested and further investigation in the case is underway.
